JCHS Announcements 1/12/21 PLEASE READ...IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON GUIDELINES FOR MID-TERM TESTS. http://5il.co/4dw2
about 4 years ago, JUNCTION CITY HIGH SCHOOL
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM JCHS Counselor Videssa Owens: As we near the end of the semester in the JCHS/NECC school district, a few reminders for parents/legal guardians: 1. Each semester stands on its own in our district. This means your child’s first and second nine weeks grades plus their semester exam grade will be averaged together to get his/her semester grade. If that semester grade is an F, he/she has failed that course for the semester. Midterms will be given Thursday and Friday of this week. 2. Semester grades determine activities governed by AAA. The required grade point average, is a 2.0. 3. Rules governing junior high and high school are different. Please contact the school if you have specific questions. 4. High school students will have to repeat the first semester of any course not passed, if it is a graduation requirement. 5. PLEASE, log into your child’s HAC account if you need a reminder of your child’s performance the first nine weeks. The steps are as follows: Go to our school’s website. Click on “more” and you will then see “parents.” Home Access Center is first. Log in as you normally do. You will click on “grades.” Now you can view the report card from the first nine weeks (10/30/20). You can also view the progress report for the second nine weeks(12/07/20). Last, you can see your child’s current grades in his/her assigned courses. You’ll be able to see if he/she is missing any work. Screenshot this please, if you think you may need it for future reference.

JCHS-NECC NEEDS YOUR HELP! ATTENTION BUSINESS OWNERS AND INDUSTRY LEADERS: Due to covid, JCHS will not be able to sponsor a career fair for our students to attend. Instead, we will create a Career Fair video. This video will give students and parents a better understanding of requirements and opportunities in our community by giving information on entry level qualifications for companies and different career paths students could take. Please send any short employee promotional videos of your business to Ms. Deneen Miller at millerd@jcdragons.k12.ar.us. If you are unable to email the digital file, please bring your video by the JCHS office. We need these as soon as possible! Depending on length of video, only parts of your video may be used. This is a great opportunity for everyone in our community and surrounding area to view your business and what it offers for employees. The DSN wants to encourage our sponsors and advertisers to participate in this very important career fair!
