Elementary teachers and students will be celebrating and practicing G.U.I.D.E. March 15-19!
G.U.I.D.E. for Life: Growth, Understanding, Interaction, Decisions, Empathy!
Monday: Wear blue to be cool and calm.
- Teachers: We need to address stress management so that we can help students express their emotions and feelings. Practice breathing and relaxation.
- Students: Discuss emotions and feelings with a trusted adult or friend. Start a journal that includes how you feel.
Tuesday: Wear gray for softness in looking deep inside our minds.
- Teachers: Take the time to look deep within to check our self-awareness about various situations.
- Students: Find some positive role models in school and in your community. Ask yourself, “who do I want to be.”
Wednesday: Wear green for growing friendships and for St. Patrick’s Day.
- Teachers: It is necessary to focus on positive relationships and networking.
- Students: Being a good friend and making new friends will help with being a good sport.
Thursday: Wear yellow to represent a sunny outlook.
- Teachers: We must make healthy choices about our food and exercise. Walk outside during duty.
- Students: You have to focus on your personal safety and your responsibilities.
Friday: Wear purple for being a part of Junction City.
- Teachers: It is important to rely on community resources and supports. We need to interact with our community.
- Students: Students should be active with the community by showing respect, manners, listening skills, and kindness. No bullying.
